This stein features one of the well-known characters, Grandpa Sage in Don Rand's book, Rigby and Gem A Guberif Adventure. The story behind this character is based on Don's childhood when he was inspired by all the fire safety signs he saw throughout the state of Idaho. If you are wondering what Guberif stands for, it is firebug spelled backwards.This lidded stein is in excellent condition and is signed by Don Rand. In his book, Don shares his imagination by bringing the characters to life. The book teaches children about the land of the Guberif's and their dedication to teaching fire safety and prevention. Readers are taken on a journey in the magical land of the Guberif's. Grandpa Sage helps Rigby and Gem earn their own Guberif Wings, so they too can become official members of the Fire Prevention Family.Readers are introduced to the Firebugs, who do not know better than to start fires since they have not been taught about fire safety and prevention. The Guberif's are always trying to make certain everyone is safe through teaching fire prevention tips and taking time to show the Firebugs the error of their ways. The stein shows a rendition of house on fire that is being put out by a young Grandpa Sage. Across the top is a banner with the words, Guberif the Firefighter. This porcelain stein has three gold-leaf bands wrapped around the top and bottom of the stein with a conical pewter lid with very ornate detailing. Only 200 steins were made. This limited edition stein is in excellent condition.
